Welcome.

My name is Christopher J Stubbs, and I am a postdoctoral researcher in biomechanical engineering.

I have nine years of experience in the development of computational finite element models to answer interdisciplinary research questions at multiple scales. My current postdoctoral research focuses on leveraging computational biomechanics expertise to investigate crop phenotypes. My PhD focused on applying state-of-the-art finite element modeling techniques to computational biomechanics in both human and plant research. Prior to my PhD, I worked in industry for six years, specializing in large degree-of-freedom, dynamic, nonlinear finite element modeling. My research has resulted in seven peer-reviewed journal publications, one book chapter, and thirty-two conference presentations.  I am currently a reviewer for eight peer-reviewed journals in both human and plant biomechanics.

My career goal is to become an interdisciplinary scientist with expertise in the creation and validation of computational biomechanical modeling frameworks to address complex multi-scale research questions. My focus is to encourage the exchange of computational tools in human and plant biomechanics through interdisciplinary collaboration.
